Saif Ali Khan’s Love Aaj Kal, which is being directed by Imtiaz Ali, has wrapped up its shooting and has now moved on to the post production stage. Chotte Nawab has added as commercial pepperings, a dance item number in the film. The song was shot on none other but the leading lady of the film, Deepika Padukone. The shooting of the film started in May 2008. The film has been shot in London, USA and in Kolkata. In India, shots were taken in Red Fort, Purana Qila and on the streets of Delhi.
Saif’s production company called Illuminati Films which was set up in 2008 will release its first produce titled Love Aaj Kal, in June 26, 2009. Though, the shoot was progressing smoothly, the title was not that pleasing for director Imtiaz Ali. For Imtiaz Ali, the struggle to find an appropriate title is not new. He’s been through it with his past films Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met , whose title was eventually
suggested by Shahid Kapur .
For Saif’s home production, Imtiaz wanted the name ‘Aaj Aur Kal’ or ‘Aaj Kal’. But Saif wanted a title that had a Hinglish punch like ‘Jab We Met’. , Saif and Imitiaz were looking out for a catchy name that can connect to the audience instantly. They finalized on the title Love Aaj Kal eventually as it qualified on all their standards. However, Imtiaz is still not so pleased with the title, says a source.
The film would portray Saif in a never like before avatar of a Sikh, romancing the hot actress Deepika Padukone in the female lead. The buzz around the film has only been about Deepika, but according to reports, there are two more girls in the movie, one of who is a foreign model. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and his wife Neetu Kapoor alongwith Rahul Khanna are a part of the cast and crew of the film. The film’s story is very contemporary and revolves around a couple and the impact of surrounding ever-changing culture on their relationship.
